OUR EARLY LEARNING

A gentle kind and nurturing space where you can take comfort in knowing your little one is taken care of while you work. Artemis is a hidden gem conveniently located halfway between Queanbeyan and Canberra’s city centre.

With years of experience, we know the recipe for providing a comfortable and happy space for children - a safe, bright and positive environment where children can explore, bond, imagine and develop a lifelong love of learning.

As a single, privately owned service, it is our very own Artemis families who have had the most significant influence on our culture and values. We listen and adjust with ease and, as educators, it is a privilege to create a boutique values-based model.

OUR PROGRAM

In an increasingly fast-paced world, we believe an unhurried approach in the early childhood years offers the healthiest and strongest foundation for a child's academic, social, and personal growth.

Our program focuses on developing opportunities for children to discover, explore and learn through play. Children are given a voice and the power to make decisions regarding their play, learning and social interactions. This empowers them to build confidence and resilience while teaching them to be kind, civil and collaborative. These are the foundation blocks for their futures.

Artemis follows the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF V.2) from birth to 5 years, including a fully funded Kindergarten program run by a qualified kindergarten teacher. Every child’s learning development is documented by the curriculum plan, their visual portfolios, reflection journals, newsletters and projects on display.

ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMS

We have so much fun together learning new skills through a range of wonderful activities at Artemis. From Zumba lessons and Ready, Steady, Go Kids; to incursions like RSPCA, Yoga lessons, First nation Elders, First aid lessons and visits from the dinosaur museum, reptile zoo and science shows. We encourage children to ask questions and explore their curiosity and we delight in the often messy and inquisitive journey each child takes.

“At Artemis our aim is to embed each child with a love of learning, curiosity about the world and skills to follow their own individual strengths and passions ”

OUR TEAM

We wholeheartedly appreciate what a big decision it is for parents to entrust us with their child. Your confidence largely rests on the people who will take care of your most valuable asset! This is why our most valuable asset is our staff.

We pride ourselves on having committed, experienced educators with a long history with us. Building relationships with staff creates trust and security for both parents and children. We are committed to ongoing training and education, review and reflections as a critical aspect of professional development for our team.

WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECKS

We carry out reference checks on all staff employed at Artemis Early Learning Centre to gain an understanding of the competence, reliability and attitude of the candidates.   To comply with the Child Protection (Prohibited Employment) Act 1998 and the Commission for Children and Young People Act 1998, a Working with Children check is done on all full, part-time and casual employees as well as ongoing visitors who will be working with the children.
